Breakin' the Rulezzzz...

For the past few years I have contended with the fact that I am...plus sized...While I have made changes in the past to address this issue and "fix" it, the fact still remains that every time I shop in a store or online I hope and pray that the merchandiser picked out lovely, curve appealing clothing for a person with my figure. Up until recently I have lived with the notion that being a certain size means that I cannot break the SIX cardinal rules!

1. ALWAYS wear black, it's flattering and hides imperfections!
2. Stay clear of stripes...specifically HORIZONTAL ONES, they make you look larger!
3. NEVER wear white...it is the enemy..yo will look like a huge white cloud
4. SKINNY JEANS are for SKINNY people
5. Loose clothing is a NO- NO... makes you look fatter...
6. Spandex SHOULD be AVOIDED!
These five rules are not only annoying, they are also outdated. Since these rules were created over 100 years ago (lol),  clothing has evolved, especially plus size clothing. We have since moved far beyond all black uniforms, huge floral prints and the tasteless, disgusting, huge polka dots that were once considered fashionable for a plus size diva.

I break ALL of the above rules. All women, even plus size women, are shaped differently thus we wear clothes differently, so for now I live by the motto that "There is nothing that a pair of SPANX, a good bra and nice shoes can't fix."

Vazu Foldable Vase...

Anyone who really knows me is aware of the fact that I am extremely clumsy...because I know this when I am around delicate items like glass, I get really nervous and I never, ever give flowers as a gift because I fear the glass vase will never make it to the destination.....
Apparently the makes of Vazu FOLDABLE Vase had people like me in mind when they constructed this beautiful creation. When purchased, the Vazu Vase is flat in it's packaging and when you are ready to use it, the creations simple unfolds and you can fill with water and put the precious flowers inside. When you are all done with it, you can simply refold it and store away until it is needed again, and the most amazing thing is that it only cost $4.99 usd and as you can see they are really cute!

I picked it up from Target, it was 14.99 usd...... feels great on my skin and it smells great!

Recession proof MAC!!

I am a total MAC cosmetics girl down to my country, chocolate bones! Every time I get a little change I browse through just to see what I can get! Like many of you I have found that Mac has something for every skin tone and I never leave disappointed *except for when they are out of whatever I want, or they discontinue one of my favs* It has become painfully obvious to us all that these recessionary times have put a damper on our Mac haul days! Well just as a reminder divas BACK to MAC still exist and it's in need more than ever now! For those of you who don't know Back to MAC is a program that ever MAC girl *and guy/gay* should adore, the premise is to take six empty containers back to mack and you will get a free lipstick....Now to the average cosmetic head may feel that one free lipstick may not seem like much but to a MAC guru that's a whole heck of a lot, especially since they have every color imaginable! So divas save those empty containers and gon' and get your free item!! Oh, FYI: they will take back just about every container, not just compacts.... (eye shadows, paint tubes, mascara tubes, empty shade sticks...etc).

Step into the Fashion arena with these.......

Gladiators have completely been in the mist of all the fashion scandals this summer, every celebrity and any socialite who knows what's best for all of stylish humanity has at least one pair of gladiators if not more! Some have even found ways to dress them up for a night on the town and apparently the designer Gods have taken notice and decided to add heels to some of the mock warrior fashions in there shoe collections.

Now, we always talk about how some of us love fashion, but we just can't afford it all! So for all my little baby dolls and divas who, like me, can't afford to drop 300.00 USD on a pair of flats that will be out of style before you can say H.A.U.T.E'; I have searched high and low for some great gladiators at bargain prices @ http://www.gojane.com/, and I am sure you will be pleased.

Teen OR NOT Vogue.....

I have always been in to fashion as far back as I can remember. When I was in the tenth grade my bestfriend at the time and myself discovered Teen Vogue magazine and I was in heaven. Immediately I began to collect the issues month after month and created look books by cutting out the fashions that turned me on and would flatter my body. Once I got a job I began to stalk the department stores and websites mentioned in the magazine in hopes of finding pieces that I could afford with my minimum wage paying job.

Once I went on to college my mom and many others asked me "don't you think it's time to move on to THE Vogue"... *gasp* as if to say I had out grown all the deliciousness brewing within the pages of Teen Vogue? My answer?...No! No! No!....I have not out grown Teen vogue, the truth is that THE Vogue is just too expensive for my no job having, career college student up to my neck in loans *bLeEp*, depending on my parents and not having a pot to piss in pockets!....My dream IS to someday be able to sport that high end fashions in THE Vogue, but until then I shall remain faithful to Teen Vogue!

Cheap Clothes and Jelly Rolls...

I am the queen of cheap, but not dirt cheap...more like sales rack only cheap! As a thick chick I have learned that cheap, plus size clothes just don't mix. Instead of accumulating quantity instead of being concerned with quality, I prefer to look fly and expensive. Many of us don't realize just how unflattering cheap clothes look when hugging those jelly rolls. Usually instead of looking for uber cheap, I look for something nice, that will last and in some way enhance my beauty! Usually to save and still look fly I shop at: Old Navy, Torrid, Lane Bryant, Ashley Stewart and Gap.

Recession Proof Feet....

My birthday is tomorrow and usually I spend my special day getting a facial, a pedicure and a manicure. Unfortunately due to the economy and my lack of a job I decided to do my feet myself. Now, I don't have hard cracked heels or callous spots, so it does not take much for me to make them look cute. I currently have acrylic on my nails so that I will not be doing and my mom has gifted me a facial, so the only thing missing is a good old fashioned pedicure. Since I knew that I wanted to wear open toed shoes I knew that I wanted to have freshly painted toes so I went out and brought a pretty nail polish, and a inexpensive home pedicure kit from Wal-mart, and there you have it I will be fresh 2 death on b-day!!
